The measuring cylinder, or measuring hex base cylinder, is a hexagonal base cylindrical vessel that, unlike a burette or pipette, has its graduations starting from the bottom. It is used for measuring a specific volume of solutions and is also applicable for determining the volume of irregular solid objects.
