The beaker is known in French as (Bécher) and in English as (Beaker). This product is one of the most commonly used laboratory glassware, typically used for stirring, mixing, or heating liquids in the lab. These containers are generally cylindrical with a flat bottom and graduated markings, featuring a lip at the top that facilitates the transfer and pouring of materials into another container.
Beakers are available in various sizes, ranging from one milliliter to several liters. Due to the lip designed for them, they do not come with a lid, so a watch glass can be used to cover them. These containers have graduations on their walls, and this graduation may differ between different beakers, with the volume of each container also engraved on it.
Beakers are categorized into different types. One such classification is the short glass beakers or Griffin beakers, named after their designer John Joseph Griffin, where the height of the container is approximately 1.4 times its diameter.
